Emotional, behavioral, and mental health conditions in children often go untreated or even unnoticed until symptoms surface in the classroom and become barriers to learning and social functioning. To meet this need, Foothill Family provides services at 183 schools in 18 school districts across the San Gabriel Valley to provide counseling to children.

Foothill Family’s school-based services are contracted, professional counseling and educationally-related mental health care provided for students at their elementary, middle, or high school. When necessary, these services can include family therapy, in-home services, and linkages to community resources for additional support. Group treatment on topics such as anger management, social skills, substance abuse treatment, and trauma counseling are also available. To support the school administration, teacher trainings and seminars are offered, as well as programs for school community development that promote school/family engagement.
